The Department of Education has proposed a scheme whereby all current Primary 6 children and their parents may access online learning programmes in English and Maths. This scheme is for Summer 2020.
Two on-line resource packages have been identified which we wish to highlight to parents of our Year 6 pupils. These are IXL and Mathematics Mastery. Mathematics Mastery is free to use and IXL is free to use for the first month.
Both of these programmes contain numeracy and literacy. We would encourage you to avail of these resources if you feel it would support your Primary 6 children in their learning.
Children will require access to a tablet, laptop or smart phone to access the programmes. As with the use of any online programme or application it will be important that parents consider both appropriate levels of screen time and their child’s online safety.
