P4G visit Carrickfergus Museum
19th Oct 2017
We started our new World War II topic with a trip to Carrickfergus Museum today. We weighed out a child's weekly sweet ration, then exchanged our coupons to taste them. Then we sorted foods into rationed and not rationed. Next we got our 48 clothes coupons, and had to decide what to buy - the clothes had to last a whole year so it was a tricky choice. We also looked at what items an Evacuee might pack in their suitcase, and made our own Evacuee labels. We got to hold some different types of gas masks, and also recorded a sentence about our trip using the Tellagami App.
